Rewritten Title:
Retired Educators to Receive Pending Benefits – Government Pledges Timely Payments
Delayed End-of-Service Bonuses to Be Settled Soon
Retired educators who have been awaiting the remaining half of their 2021 end-of-service benefits will receive payments next month, according to the head of Iran’s Civil Servants Pension Fund.
Hojat Mirzaei, the fund’s managing director, acknowledged the delay in disbursing the second installment, originally scheduled for this month, citing “exceptional national conditions” as the cause. He assured retirees that efforts are underway to finalize payments by next month.
Commitment to Clearing Backlogs
Mirzaei emphasized that the pension fund remains committed to resolving all pending claims systematically. While half of the 2021 dues were paid last month, outstanding payments for 2024 are also being addressed in installments.
Supplementary Insurance Challenges Addressed
Regarding supplementary insurance, Mirzaei explained that due to limited government resources, the pension fund must allocate funds from corporate dividends to cover last year’s and this year’s obligations. Delays in corporate assemblies have temporarily hindered resource allocation, but the fund is prioritizing swift debt settlement once funds become available.
Weekly meetings with Dana Insurance are being held to resolve operational issues, and unsupported medical claims up to 2.5 million tomans are being processed. The deadline for insurance adjustments has been extended to August 15, with no further extensions planned.
Expansion of Support Centers
Mirzaei also announced plans to construct “Hope Houses” (retiree support centers) in cities lacking such facilities, including Shahrekord, Ardabil, Ilam, Khorramabad, Bushehr, and Karaj. Agreements have already been finalized in Shahrekord and Ardabil, with construction set to begin once municipalities provide land in other regions.
Retirees’ Representatives Express Appreciation
During the meeting, representatives from retiree associations thanked the pension fund for its efforts in modernizing payment systems and addressing financial concerns. They also shared their perspectives on supplementary insurance and other pending claims.
The Civil Servants Pension Fund reaffirmed its dedication to improving retirees’ welfare through structured financial planning and responsive policy implementation.
