Retirees to Receive Additional Payment This Month, Backlog Addressed
Iran’s Social Security Organization has announced a significant disbursement for its retirees this month. In addition to their regular monthly pension, retirees will receive a supplementary payment covering an outstanding adjustment from earlier in the year.
Settling Outstanding Payments
The payment addresses a backlog from the previous Iranian calendar year. According to retiree advocacy groups, the supplementary amount averages between 3 to 4 million tomans per individual. The process of depositing these funds is scheduled to begin on Saturday, September 6, 2024.
The organization has outlined a phased distribution plan, prioritizing retirees receiving minimum benefits and those on disability pensions. The payments for all other pension tiers are scheduled to be completed within the subsequent two weeks. Retirees are advised that their payment slips for this additional sum are expected to be uploaded to the “Tamin Min” online portal prior to the transfers commencing.
Regular Pension Schedule Confirmed
Alongside this announcement, the schedule for the standard pension payment for the current month has also been confirmed. Social Security retirees will receive their regular pension on September 19, 20, and 21. State retirees are scheduled for payment on September 20, and military retirees will be paid on September 21. The announcement included a note that precise transfer times could vary by one to two days due to operational logistics.
This move resolves a five-month anticipation period for many retirees, during which the delay had been a topic of discussion. The coordinated effort by the Social Security Organization demonstrates a commitment to fulfilling its obligations to pensioners.
