Rewritten Title: New Support Package for Iranian Retirees Combines Discounts, Credit, and Rewards
Article:
In a significant move to bolster the welfare of its retired community, Iran’s Civil Servants Pension Fund has announced a comprehensive new support initiative. The program, which includes direct financial benefits and special rewards, underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to improving the livelihood of its senior citizens.
Expanded Discounts and Credit Facilities
The initiative, effective from last Wednesday, introduces a special 20% discount on a range of dairy products from the Pegah Company for all state retirees shopping at Daily Market chain stores. This measure is designed to directly increase the purchasing power of retirees for essential goods.
Hamidreza Sheikhi, Director General of Welfare Services at the Pension Fund, elaborated on the program’s scope. “This action has been taken to help improve the livelihood of retirees and provide them with effective support services,” he stated.
Beyond the discounts, the package includes a substantial credit facility. Retirees are eligible for a line of credit up to 3 million Tomans, which can be repaid over a three-month period without any banking interest. This collaboration between the Pension Fund and Daily Market is part of a broader partnership that began earlier this year, with a focus on developing diverse support schemes for the retired community.
Officials have confirmed that the program will initially focus on dairy products and will be gradually expanded to include other essential commodity groups.
Rewarding Retirees: Pilgrimage and Leisure Trips
In a parallel event to celebrate the elderly, the Pension Fund, in cooperation with the “Shahr-e Lozem-e Khanegi” company, held a special lottery for retirees. The draw, which saw participation from nearly 4,000 individuals, awarded ten lucky winners and their families with all-expenses-paid trips.
The prizes included pilgrimages to the holy city of Mashhad and leisure trips to Kish Island. The winners, hailing from several cities including Rasht, Tehran, Shiraz, and Sari, were celebrated for their long-standing service.
The Welfare Services Department congratulated the winners, emphasizing that such programs are a continuation of the Pension Fund’s welfare policies. These initiatives are strategically aimed at enhancing living standards, increasing purchasing power, and ensuring easy access to high-quality household goods for the large community of retirees. The accompanying company also highlighted the importance of honoring the elderly and pioneers of Iranian society, hoping the event would create lasting memories for the winners and their families.
