Iranian Social Security Organization Clarifies Child Benefit Payments, Sets Deadline for Documentation
In a move to streamline its welfare system, Iran’s Social Security Organization has issued a new directive for pensioners and survivors, clarifying the status of child benefit payments and setting a deadline for required documentation.
Deadline for Required Forms
The Insurance Deputy of the Social Security Organization has announced that individuals receiving survivor pensions must complete a “Letter of Undertaking” for their eligible daughters and granddaughters. This process must be completed by October 7, 2024, through the organization’s online portal at es.tamin.ir.
The announcement also highlighted that the same online platform provides an option for housewives and young women to enroll in the “Iranian Family Comprehensive Insurance” plan, expanding the social safety net.
Clarification on Child Benefits
Recent reports had indicated confusion among some beneficiaries who found child benefit payments deducted from their September pensions. In response, the Social Security Organization has provided a detailed clarification.
The organization confirmed that the payment of child benefits to the vast majority of pensioners and survivors has proceeded without any changes. The adjustments are a result of a system-wide “intelligentization” and data-updating initiative, which automatically halted benefits for dependents over the age of 18 who are not the primary insured individuals.
A manager from the organization stated, “The child benefit has not been eliminated. It was under review and will be deposited into the accounts of eligible pensioners by October 7.”
Addressing System Errors
The organization acknowledged that a systematic error has temporarily affected a specific group of survivors. It assured the public that software corrections and data completion are underway.
“Revisions will be applied to the October pensions for those who were incorrectly affected once the issues are resolved,” the official notice read.
Procedure for Grievances
Individuals who believe their child benefits have been wrongly suspended are instructed to register their request, along with any supporting legal documents, exclusively through the dedicated grievance portal at https://۱۴۲۰.tamin.ir or by calling the 24/7 hotline at 1420. A tracking code will be provided via SMS to follow the status of the request.
The Social Security Organization has reaffirmed that its Public Relations Department is the sole official source for news and updates, urging beneficiaries to rely on official channels for accurate information.
