Title: Landmark Economic Ruling Paves Way for Final Pension Payment Phase
In a significant move to address financial obligations, Iran’s Supreme Coordination Council of the Heads of Branches of Power has ratified a resolution to settle government debts to the Social Security Organization. This decision ensures the final phase of pension adjustments for the country’s retirees and pensioners.
A Major Step in Fulfilling Financial Commitments
The recent high-level council meeting resulted in the approval of a substantial 185 trillion tomans allocation to the Social Security Organization. This funding, structured as 70 trillion tomans in Islamic financial bonds and 115 trillion tomans in shares and assets, underscores the state’s commitment to honoring its financial responsibilities towards the nation’s social security apparatus.
Clearing Debts and Commencing Payments
Following the formal notification of this resolution and the allocation and issuance of the 70 trillion tomans in bonds, the process to convert these assets into liquid funds will begin. Once this multi-stage process is complete, the accumulated debts to contracted academic and non-academic medical centers, as well as supplementary medical insurance, will be settled from the resulting liquidity.
Final Phase of Pension Adjustments Begins
In line with its previous announcement, the Social Security Organization has confirmed that the process for paying the remaining pension adjustments and annual salary increases for the month of Farvardin 1404 (April 2025) will commence. Starting from Monday, Mehr 21st, the payments for the remaining group of eligible retirees and pensioners will be gradually and consistently processed through agent banks.
This marks the third and final phase of these payments. The first phase was successfully completed on Shahrivar 12th for all retirees with a total income of up to 20 million tomans and all disabled pensioners. The second phase was conducted simultaneously with the Shahrivar monthly pension payments for all survivor beneficiaries.
