Title: Landmark Social Welfare Initiative: New Loan Facility for Retirees and Pensioners Announced
Tehran – In a significant move to enhance social welfare, a new collaborative initiative between the Social Security Organization and the Workers’ Welfare Bank has been unveiled, introducing a substantial loan facility for the nation’s retirees and pensioners.
Expanded Financial Support for 2025
A major agreement has been finalized to provide 300,000 interest-free loan installments for the upcoming Iranian year 1404 (2025). This program is designed to distribute financial aid to eligible applicants every two months, ensuring consistent support for this valued segment of the population.
Phased Disbursement Underway
The rollout of this supportive measure is already in progress. The initial phase was successfully executed in late May, benefiting 38,753 individuals. A second phase followed in July, providing loans to 34,657 retirees and pensioners. Most recently, a third phase in September saw disbursements to 39,593 beneficiaries, demonstrating the program’s active implementation.
Enhanced Loan Terms
A key feature of this year’s initiative is a notable increase in the financial support offered. The ceiling for the interest-free loan has been raised from 30 million Tomans in the previous year to 50 million Tomans for 2025. The annual service fee for the loan is set at 4 percent, with a convenient 24-month repayment period deducted directly from the recipient’s monthly pension.
Eligibility and Application Process
To qualify for the loan, applicants must meet specific criteria, including receiving their pension through the Workers’ Welfare Bank, not having utilized a similar facility in previous years, and having a clear financial record with the national banking system.
Eligible retirees and pensioners are required to apply in person. Applications must be submitted at the provincial or city retirement associations corresponding to their place of residence. The addresses for these associations can be found on the official website of the High Council of Retirement Associations.
