Tehran Launches National Initiative to Replace Inefficient Motorcycles, Curbing Pollution and Fuel Consumption
In a significant move to address urban environmental and economic challenges, the operational phase of the National Scheme for Replacing Inefficient Motorcycles has officially commenced, with the capital city of Tehran as the initial priority.
Tackling Urban Challenges
The primary objective of this initiative is the systematic removal of aging and inefficient motorcycles from Tehran’s streets. These older vehicles are identified as major contributors to urban air pollution and are responsible for a disproportionate level of fuel waste, placing a strain on both public health and national resources. By replacing them, the scheme aims to foster a cleaner, more sustainable urban environment.
A Phased and Organized Rollout
Authorities have emphasized that the implementation of the scheme is a gradual and structured process. The first phase involves the official notification of eligible applicants, which has now begun for residents of Tehran.
Eligible individuals who have been pre-qualified for the program will receive an official SMS notification in the coming days. This message will contain a unique link and a guide for the next steps.
Official Procedure for Applicants
The government has outlined a clear and mandatory procedure for successful participation. Applicants are strongly advised to act only after receiving the confirmation SMS. The subsequent steps are as follows:
- Install the “Q Bank” application, the official software of the Gharzolhasaneh Mehr Iran Bank.
- Complete the electronic registration process within the application to receive the modernization loan facilitated by the scheme.
It is strictly emphasized that only individuals who have received the official confirmation SMS are permitted to proceed. Any registration attempts made outside the provided official link will be considered invalid.
This national scheme represents a concerted effort to modernize urban transportation infrastructure, aligning with broader goals for enhanced environmental protection and economic efficiency.
