Title: Esteghlal FC Expresses Confidence in Resolving Legal Case, Backs Coach Sapinto
Tehran – In a significant update on the club’s affairs, Ali Tajer Nia, the Acting CEO and Chairman of the Board of Esteghlal Football Club, has expressed strong optimism regarding the resolution of a longstanding legal case, citing new evidence that points to procedural errors.
Breakthrough in Legal Proceedings
Addressing the media, Tajer Nia highlighted the positive recent developments in the ‘Montazer Mohammad’ case. He confirmed that the dossier’s responsibility has been assigned to a dedicated board member, leading to a renewed and vigorous effort.
“We have consulted with both domestic and international legal experts,” Tajer Nia stated. “New documents have come to light which indicate that the process of the case has been different than initially understood. The most critical point is an inquiry that reveals an error was made by FIFA and the Football Federation.”
The club official expressed confidence that, with this comprehensive advisory support, a strong petition will be filed. “We are hopeful that, God willing, the ruling will be in Esteghlal’s favor,” he added.
Unwavering Support for Head Coach
Shifting focus to the team’s performance, Tajer Nia reaffirmed the club’s full support for head coach Ricardo Sapinto. He emphasized that this backing has been consistent since the appointment of the club’s supervisory board.
“We have supported Sapinto from the beginning and we continue to do so,” Tajer Nia remarked. Acknowledging a delayed start to team preparations for the season, he projected a positive outlook: “Naturally, the team’s readiness was slightly affected, but we expect to see greater cohesion and strength in the coming weeks.”
New CEO Appointment Imminent
In a final note on the club’s administrative future, Tajer Nia announced that the process to appoint a permanent Chief Executive Officer for Esteghlal is in its final stages. “God willing, the club’s CEO will be selected very soon,” he concluded, signaling a move towards stable and permanent leadership for the iconic Iranian club.
