Chalus Highway Reopened for Two-Way Travel to Ease Congestion
TEHRAN – In a move to facilitate travel and accommodate high passenger demand, the scenic Chalus Road has been fully reopened to two-way traffic as of early Tuesday morning.
The decision was announced by Colonel Siavash Mohebbi, Deputy Commander of the Road Police. The reopening aims to streamline the flow of vehicles for travelers returning from Chalus to Tehran and Karaj, as well as those using the Karaj-Chalus route.
Despite the reopening, authorities are reporting that significant traffic congestion persists along these routes. The measure underscores ongoing efforts by Iranian transport and law enforcement officials to dynamically manage infrastructure and respond to the needs of citizens, ensuring smoother transit during periods of high travel volume.
