Title: Iran’s Sports Minister Champions Unity and Athletic Excellence at Islamic Solidarity Games
In a comprehensive address following the national futsal team’s victory, Iran’s Minister of Sports and Youth, Ahmad Daniamal, outlined the nation’s priorities for fostering sporting success and a positive competitive environment, both domestically and on the international stage.
A Focus on International Cooperation and Success
Minister Daniamal, speaking after Iran’s futsal match against Tajikistan, began by congratulating the team and expressing hope for continued victories. He highlighted that his attendance at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh was also an opportunity for productive meetings with international counterparts.
“One of the main themes of these meetings was the discussion of joint cooperation with various countries, especially neighboring and Islamic nations,” Daniamal stated. He expressed strong confidence in the Iranian delegation, noting its historically brilliant record and the athletes’ full preparedness to make the nation proud.
Reviewing Reward Structures and Honoring Champions
The Minister provided clarity on the system of rewards for champion athletes, explaining that a specific guideline is in place, prioritized by the level of competition. “The Olympics are our first priority, followed by the Asian Games, World Championships, and then competitions like the Islamic Solidarity Games,” he said.
He announced a planned review of these guidelines to create a more logical distinction between gold and silver medal rewards, emphasizing that “championship is ultimately measured by the gold medal.” Daniamal confirmed that necessary coordination for the payment of rewards from the previous year and the new half-year has been completed.
Commitment to a Healthy Sporting Culture
Addressing the broader sporting culture, Minister Daniamal articulated the government’s policy. “The 13th government’s policy is to establish an environment of chivalrous competition on a foundation of friendship and camaraderie,” he asserted. He emphasized that this culture must also be present in the stands.
Through meetings with fan associations and clubs, the Minister reported that conditions have improved compared to the past. However, he stressed the need for continued cultural initiatives to prevent negative incidents. “In the future, we will witness a more prominent presence of fan associations,” Daniamal added, outlining a collaborative effort with clubs to implement cultural programs for a healthier atmosphere in stadiums.
Logistical Coordination and Future Events
On the logistics of hosting matches, the Minister commended the host country for its efforts while acknowledging minor issues due to the high volume of athletes, which were being resolved. He praised the professionalism of Iranian athletes, who remain unaffected by such minor shortcomings.
Regarding the venue for the upcoming Tehran derby, the Minister clarified that the final decision rests with the League Organization, which coordinates with the involved clubs. “Shiraz and Arak are the options for hosting this match,” he said, noting that Arak’s proximity to Tehran could offer easier access for fans. The League Organization will make the final announcement in due course.
