Iran’s Saipa Unveils New Saina Pickup Truck, Expanding Domestic Automotive Lineup
In a strategic move to bolster its commercial vehicle offerings, Iranian automaker Saipa is developing a new pickup truck based on its popular Saina sedan. The project, currently referred to as either the “Saina Pickup” or “Saipa 252,” represents a continuation of the company’s policy of leveraging existing platforms to meet diverse market demands.
Leveraging Proven Technology
The new Saina Pickup is expected to utilize the established 1.3-liter M13 engine, a powertrain known for its reliability in Saipa’s economic vehicle lineup. This strategic decision ensures parts commonality and maintenance simplicity. The most significant upgrade over previous models like the Saipa 151 is an increased cargo capacity, with the new vehicle reportedly able to carry approximately 650 kg.
Design and Feature Upgrades
