Social Security Back Payments Begin Distribution: March Pension Adjustment Reaches Millions
The phased distribution of back payments for the March 2024 pension adjustment for Social Security retirees and pensioners has officially commenced.
According to the announced schedule, the arrears will be distributed in three distinct phases, covering approximately five million beneficiaries.
First Phase Completed: Support for Lower-Income Retirees and Disabled Pensioners
The initial phase, which began yesterday, has successfully credited the accounts of all disabled pensioners and retirees with a total monthly income of up to 20 million tomans. This payment covers the adjustment difference for March, amounting to approximately 3 to 4 million tomans for each individual.
Upcoming Payment Schedule for Other Beneficiaries
The subsequent phases will see the arrears distributed to other beneficiary groups. The Social Security Organization has confirmed that the back payments for all “survivor pensioners” will be processed alongside their regular September pension, scheduled for September 29, 30, and 31.
Furthermore, the organization has announced that arrears for “all other retirees” will be disbursed immediately after the September pension payments have been completed.
