Title: Student Welfare Fund Reports Surge in Financial Aid, Highlighting Expanded Support for University Students
Headline: Record Financial Support Extended to Iranian University Students
In a significant demonstration of institutional support, the Iranian Student Welfare Fund has reported a major expansion of its financial aid programs, according to a recent national meeting of university student managers.
Substantial Increase in Disbursed Funds
Mr. Samad Haj Jabari, the Deputy for Student Affairs of the Welfare Fund, presented a comparative performance report highlighting a 50 percent growth in the total value of student loans compared to the previous academic year. He detailed that over 2,000 billion tomans in financial facilities were disbursed to students in the last academic year, a notable rise from approximately 1,340 billion tomans the year before.
Focus on Essential and Tuition Loans
Mr. Jabari further clarified that the bulk of these payments were allocated to essential living expense loans and tuition fee loans. In line with official directives, each eligible student could receive up to 10 million tomans to support their academic and essential needs.
Innovative Support Schemes and University Partnership
Emphasizing the implementation of innovative financial support plans, the Deputy pointed to the “50-50 Scheme” as a key initiative. This program, a collaboration between the Welfare Fund and universities, facilitates the provision of essential goods for students in dormitories. The scheme is part of a broader effort to increase the share of universities in bolstering student welfare resources.
Commitment to Streamlined Processes and Future Planning
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Jabari expressed appreciation for the cooperation of universities in streamlining the application process for these facilities. He also underscored the necessity for more cohesive planning in the disbursement and monitoring of loan repayments to ensure the long-term sustainability of these vital support programs.
