Tehran Braces for Extended Dust and Air Quality Concerns
A stable atmospheric condition with negligible winds is forecast for Tehran in the coming days, leading meteorologists to warn of a potential decline in air quality and a relative increase in pollutants, particularly in high-traffic urban areas.
A Week of Haze
According to predictions from the Tehran Province Meteorological Department, the general weather pattern for the capital over the next five days will be clear to partly cloudy in the afternoons, accompanied by a relative increase in wind. The key issue, however, is the persistence of dust.
Urban Air Quality Under Pressure
The available data indicates that in densely populated city centers, the occurrence of local dust phenomena, combined with the potential for dust transfer from neighboring provinces, makes a relative increase in air pollutant concentration and a drop in air quality highly probable. Forecasts confirm that dust will remain a persistent feature for residents of the capital until the end of the current week.
Temperature Fluctuations
The Meteorological Department also predicted a relative decrease in temperature for today, followed by a gradual warming trend starting tomorrow. During this period, Tehran’s maximum temperature is expected to fluctuate between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will see a more significant shift, rising from 17 to 30 degrees Celsius, signaling a general warming trend.
