Tehran Braces for Rising Temperatures and Increased Winds
Forecast Predicts Dust and Ozone Challenges for the Capital
TEHRAN – Meteorological analyses indicate that Tehran province is set to experience a period of rising temperatures and significant wind activity over the coming five days. According to detailed synoptic models and predictive maps, skies will range from clear to partly cloudy, with a notable increase in wind speeds anticipated during the afternoon hours.
Residents in the southern and western districts of the province are advised to prepare for periods of relatively strong to severe winds. These conditions may, at times, lead to the rise of local dust or the transfer of dust from neighboring provinces. This is expected to cause temporary reductions in visibility and a decrease in air quality.
Concurrently, elevated areas of the province, particularly in the eastern regions, are forecast to see an increase in cloud cover with a chance of scattered precipitation.
Air Quality Advisory Issued
Further compounding the atmospheric conditions, an increase in the concentration of ground-level ozone (O₃) and fine particulate matter (PM₂.₅) is predicted during the afternoon and night. This is expected to be most pronounced in high-traffic urban and industrial zones, posing potential challenges for sensitive groups.
A relative rise in temperatures is also forecast for today and Thursday. Detailed predictions for the capital specify clear to partly cloudy skies with increasing afternoon winds. Thursday’s temperatures are expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 25°C, with similar conditions and a high of 34°C projected for Friday.
Meteorological officials have stated that the accuracy of weather forecasts within a one-week timeframe is approximately 80 percent.
