Tehran Municipality Boosts Family Support with Major Loan Increases for Childbirth
In a significant move to support families and encourage population growth, the Tehran Municipality has announced a substantial increase in its financial aid programs for employees welcoming new children.
Doubled Support for First and Second Children
The head of the Municipality’s Department of Welfare, Cooperation, and Social Services, Mitham Hosseinqolizadeh, emphasized that enhancing welfare standards has always been a top priority. A key initiative for the new year is the doubling of financial loans for the birth of a first or second child.
200 Million Toman Incentive for a Third Child
A major highlight of the updated policy is a new, low-interest loan of 200 million tomans exclusively for municipal employees upon the birth of their third child. Mr. Hosseinqolizadeh noted that this amount represents a 100% increase compared to previous years, marking a significant boost in the level of support provided.
Rapid Implementation of National Directives
The official further stated that a dedicated credit of 200 million tomans has also been allocated for a fourth child. He affirmed that all allocated funds are being deposited into the accounts of eligible recipients in the shortest time possible. This swift action is in direct alignment with the national directives concerning population growth and strengthening the family unit.
A Record of Proactive Implementation
Highlighting the municipality’s commitment, Hosseinqolizadeh pointed to the allocation of over 1,700 special loans since the introduction of the “Khorsandsaz” support package as a testament to its proactive efforts. He noted that while the national “Law for the Protection of the Family and Youthful Population” – ratified by the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran in 1400 (2021-2022) to encourage childbirth and family support – has seen slow adoption across many government bodies, the Tehran Municipality has been a pioneer in its implementation.
