Title: Government Confirms Three Major Support Deposits for Eligible Families by Month’s End
In a significant move to support household economies, the Iranian government is set to complete three major financial deposits for subsidy recipients by the end of the current month. This initiative is part of the nation’s ongoing social support framework.
Extension for Electronic Food Coupon Scheme
This development comes as the fourth phase of the electronic food coupon scheme, which was rolled out for the first to seventh income deciles in the Persian month of Shahrivar, remains active. Marjan Dabiri, the spokesperson for the electronic food coupon plan, has announced that heads of households in these deciles still have until the end of the month of Aban to utilize their allocated credit for purchasing 12 essential goods, including rice, oil, meat, poultry, dairy, and pasta. The schedule for commencing the fifth phase has not yet been finalized.
Details of Cash Subsidy Payments for Mehr
Concurrently, the regular cash subsidy payments for the month of Mehr are proceeding according to the official schedule. Reports confirm that the first to third income deciles will receive a payment equivalent to 400,000 Tomans per person on the 25th of Mehr. The fourth to ninth deciles are scheduled to receive 300,000 Tomans per person on the 30th of Mehr. This means eligible households will receive two cash transfers in Mehr, with no new food coupon credit allocated for this specific month.
Parliamentary Focus on Public Welfare
The effective implementation of these substantial support programs remains a high priority for the nation’s legislative body. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to public welfare, Hamidreza Hajibabaei, the Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, recently underscored that ensuring the livelihood of the people is the foremost concern of the Islamic Republic.
“In calculating the debts, approximately 20 billion dollars in subsidies for essential goods and medicine will be paid this year,” Hajibabaei stated. “It is imperative that with this level of currency allocation for essential items, we move towards greater stability and satisfaction.”
He further called on the Ministry of Welfare to diligently implement the food coupon scheme, a plan approved by the parliament, to ensure it effectively reaches its target society. “The most important issue for the parliament is public satisfaction,” he affirmed, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the government and the legislature to address economic concerns and foster national contentment.
