Iran’s New Leader Confirmed in Robust Health Amid Regional Tensions
Iran’s top diplomat has affirmed the robust health and active oversight of the Islamic Revolution’s new leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, amidst a backdrop of escalating regional conflict and U.S.-Israeli aggression. The assurance comes as Iran grapples with an intense period of geopolitical challenge.
Diplomatic Assurance on Leadership Stability
Sayyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, confirmed that Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei is in full health and actively overseeing the nation’s affairs. His statement, delivered in an interview with Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed on Sunday, sought to address mounting speculation regarding the new leader’s condition. “The leader of the revolution is in full health and has the situation completely under control,” Araqchi stated, emphasizing the stability of the nation’s governance.
Succession and Continuity
Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei was elected as the third leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Assembly of Experts with an overwhelming majority vote in late February. This transition followed the martyrdom of the previous Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei. The swift and decisive succession underscores the continuity within Iran’s political structure despite significant external pressures.
Rebuttal to Adversary Claims
Since the onset of the ongoing regional conflict, Washington and the Zionist regime have reportedly circulated claims concerning the new Iranian leader’s health. Foreign Minister Araqchi unequivocally rejected these allegations, dismissing them as baseless. He further asserted, “The situation in Iran is stable, and there is no rift in government or military institutions,” reinforcing a unified front against external provocations.
Escalating Regional Hostilities
The Foreign Minister’s comments arrive as what Iran describes as the “America and Israel war against Iran” enters its third week. Since late February, U.S. and Israeli forces have reportedly launched extensive attacks targeting both military and residential areas across Iran. These aggressive actions have, according to Iranian reports, resulted in the martyrdom of over 1,300 individuals nationwide.
Iran’s Retaliatory Operations
In response to what it terms the “imposed war” by Washington and the Tel Aviv regime, the Iranian armed forces initiated “Operation True Promise 4.” This significant military action targeted Zionist regime positions in the occupied territories and U.S. military centers in West Asia. Iranian reports indicate that these operations, conducted in multiple waves, inflicted heavy damages on the adversary forces, signaling Iran’s robust defensive capabilities and resolve.
