Title: Landmark Agreement Secures Enhanced Healthcare Coverage for Iranian Retirees
In a significant development for social welfare, a new and improved supplemental insurance contract for retirees and pensioners of the Social Security Organization has been finalized.
Finalized Agreement and Broader Coverage
The contract was officially signed following a successful agreement between the selected insurance company and the High Council of Social Security Retirees and Pensioners. This new supplemental insurance package marks a substantial upgrade, offering a significant expansion in medical services, coverage levels, and cost reimbursements compared to the previous year’s plan.
Financial Structure and Shared Responsibility
Structured with a focus on quality, rationality, and fairness, the premium for the standard supplemental insurance package has been set at 720,000 Tomans. In a move that underscores institutional support, the Social Security Organization will contribute 250,000 Tomans towards this cost. The remaining 470,000 Tomans will be deducted from the retirees’ pensions, reflecting a shared commitment to securing enhanced healthcare benefits.
Contract Validity and Retroactive Support
The new insurance contract is effective from Azar 23, 2024, and will remain valid until the end of Azar 1405. To ensure comprehensive support, the agreement includes provisions for individuals who have recently received medical services. These retirees can submit their relevant documentation to the insurance company for the reimbursement of their incurred costs.
This agreement represents a proactive step in strengthening the social safety net and ensuring the well-being of retirees, a key segment of Iranian society.
