Title: Iran Unveils Enhanced 2025 Family Support Loan Initiative
In a strategic move to bolster national demographic resilience, the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced the detailed terms for its enhanced “Parental Loan” program for the upcoming Iranian calendar year 1404 (2025). This initiative, a cornerstone of the country’s family and youth population support policies, offers substantial financial assistance to families, with loan amounts increasing progressively based on the number of children.
A Stepped Financial Support System
The program is structured to provide significant, tiered support to growing families. The loan amounts for the new year have been set as follows:
- First Child: 44 Million Tomans
- Second Child: 88 Million Tomans
- Third Child: 132 Million Tomans
- Fourth Child: 165 Million Tomans
- Fifth Child and Beyond: 220 Million Tomans
This graduated scale reflects a targeted approach to alleviating the financial considerations associated with raising children.
Favorable Repayment Terms
Classified as a Qard-al-Hassanah (interest-free) loan in accordance with the Central Bank’s directives, the scheme carries a maximum service charge of only 4 percent per annum. This structure makes it one of the most accessible financial products available to citizens.
The repayment mechanism is designed for ease. The principal loan amount is divided over the repayment period, while the annual service fee is calculated separately on the remaining balance each year. For instance, a 44-million-Toman loan for a first child, with a 36-month term, results in a manageable monthly installment of approximately 1.333 Million Tomans for the principal, with the service fee settled in dedicated periods.
Eligibility and Application Process
The loan is available to Iranian citizens, with the father eligible to receive the loan once per child. The program includes provisions for multiple births, the birth of subsequent children during an existing loan’s term, and legal guardians in specific circumstances.
Prospective applicants must first register online through the official portal ve.cbi.ir, complete their information, and obtain a 10-digit tracking code. They must then select a participating bank branch and visit it within 12 business days with the required documentation, including national identification documents and an eligible guarantor.
Policy Implementation and Geographic Focus
This initiative is being implemented under the “Law for the Protection of the Family and Youthful Population” and the relevant clauses of the national budget law. Financial institutions are mandated to disburse these facilities using their Qard-al-Hassanah resources.
In line with its strategic demographic objectives, the loan’s availability is subject to geographic criteria. It is allocated to applicants residing in counties where the fertility rate, as officially recorded, does not exceed 2.5, ensuring resources are directed where they can have the most significant impact on national demographic goals.
This comprehensive financial support program underscores the nation’s commitment to strengthening the family unit as a foundational pillar of society.
