Iran’s Justice Share Dividend: Second Payout for 2023 Set for Late September
In a move that underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to public wealth distribution, the second tranche of dividends from Iran’s Justice Shares for the fiscal year 2023 is scheduled for disbursement within the next two to three weeks. This initiative, a cornerstone of the nation’s social equity policy, will see funds deposited into the accounts of eligible citizens by the end of the Iranian month of Shahrivar or the first week of Mehr.
A Structured Approach to Dividend Distribution
The first installment of the Justice Share dividend was successfully paid in Esfand of last year. Shareholders with a 492,000-toman portfolio received approximately 744,000 tomans, while those holding one-million-toman shares received over 1.5 million tomans. The upcoming second payment is expected to be within a similar range.
This disbursement is part of a newly structured system. Based on a directive from the High Council of the Stock Market, the payment process for Justice Share dividends has been reformed starting in 2024. Instead of a single annual lump sum, payments will now be made in several installments according to a specific timetable. This decision was made to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and bring greater regularity to the payment process for millions of citizens.
Coordinating a National Initiative
The precise timing for the launch of the second phase is being finalized. Mehdi Hajivand, Special Assistant to the Head of the Securities and Exchange Organization for Justice Shares affairs, noted that the process awaits the complete transfer of dividends from a few remaining companies, including Persian Gulf Holding, Mobarakeh Steel Company, and Telecommunications Company of Iran. He emphasized that the High Council of the Stock Market will announce the exact payment date immediately upon the completion of these transfers, ensuring a smooth and coordinated national rollout.
Tracking the Growth of Public Wealth
Official data from the Justice Shares system highlights the cumulative benefit for citizens. By the end of 2024, the total dividends paid to holders of the 532,000-toman shares had reached over 4,166,000 tomans. This figure encompasses main payments, arrears from previous years, dividends from non-listed companies, and previously unsettled profits.
The value of the foundational 490,000-toman Justice Share, after accounting for all capital increases in its constituent companies, has grown significantly to 5,509,357 tomans, demonstrating the long-term value of this public endowment for its holders.
