Rewritten Title: Minister Clarifies Jurisdiction Over Homegrown Media Content, Highlights National Cultural Values
Article:
In a recent address, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Seyed Abbas Salehi, provided clarity on the administrative oversight of the nation’s burgeoning home-viewing series industry, reinforcing the government’s structured approach to cultural production.
A Matter of Jurisdiction
Responding to inquiries about the current state of domestic series, Minister Salehi outlined a clear division of responsibility. He stated that, based on a resolution from the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution during the 13th government, official jurisdiction over home-viewing content has been delegated to the national broadcasting organization, IRIB.
“The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has no intervention in this field,” the Minister confirmed, directing all critiques and suggestions regarding such content directly to the broadcasting authority.
Addressing Public Discourse
The Minister’s comments come amid broader public discussion about cultural content. While acknowledging that critiques exist, he firmly situated the platform for addressing them within the purview of the IRIB, distancing his own ministry from direct responsibility for the specific content of these series.
Celebrating Artistic Merit
Beyond the administrative details, Minister Salehi took the opportunity to champion the quality and global standing of Iran’s creative output. He praised the works of Iranian directors and writers, stating they possess significant artistic value and international credibility.
“Fairly, these works represent the credibility of Iranian art,” he said, adding that while there are strengths to celebrate, there is also a continuous effort to address any criticisms and further enhance the cultural landscape in line with national values.
