Title: National Weather Outlook Highlights Period of Atmospheric Stability and Urban Air Quality Focus
Tehran – The National Meteorological Organization has issued a detailed five-day forecast, projecting a widespread period of stable atmospheric conditions across Iran, with a specific focus on air quality in major urban centers.
Stable Skies, Urban Challenges
Sadegh Ziyaeyan, the Director General of Forecasting at the National Meteorological Organization, stated that the country is set to experience calm and stable weather patterns over the coming five days. While this generally signifies pleasant conditions, he specifically highlighted that this atmospheric stability is expected to lead to a buildup of air pollutants and a consequent reduction in air quality for seven major industrial and populous cities.
Cities Under Watch
The forecast identifies the urban centers of Tehran, Karaj, Qom, Arak, Isfahan, Tabriz, Mashhad, and Ahvaz as the areas where an increase in the concentration of atmospheric pollutants is anticipated. Residents in these regions can expect a noticeable decline in air quality during this stable weather period.
Regional Wind and Dust Activity
The national forecast also notes that separate weather dynamics will affect other parts of the country. Today, parts of the southwest and south may experience relatively strong to severe winds. Furthermore, from Wednesday through Sunday, the eastern, southeastern, and some northeastern regions of the country are forecast to have periods of strong winds. During these times, the rise of dust and a temporary reduction in air quality in these specific areas is considered likely.
