New Financial Support Package Launched for Educators and Retired Teachers
TEHRAN – In a significant move to bolster the welfare of its educators, the Iranian Civil Servants Retirement Organization (CSRO) has officially commenced the disbursement of specialized loan facilities for the nation’s teaching community, both active and retired.
The initiative, which began today, includes substantial marriage loans for educators’ children and new thesis grants for postgraduate students and their families, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting the pillars of the education system.
Subsidized Marriage Loans Now Available
According to Dr. Oghani Arani, Deputy for Management and Resource Development at the CSRO, the rollout of the 60 million tomans marriage loan has seen overwhelming early interest. Over 41,000 applications have already been registered from families seeking the financial support for their children’s weddings.
The first phase of processing has been completed, with the loans disbursed to more than 16,000 approved applicants. The loan features highly favorable terms, including a low 5% service fee and a manageable 60-month repayment plan, administered through the Export Bank of Iran to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
Thesis Grants for Academic Advancement
Parallel to the marriage aid, the Retirement Organization has activated the “Hampad” plan, a new program offering financial support for thesis work. This initiative is designed to assist both retired teachers and their children who are pursuing higher education.
Under the Hampad plan, Master’s degree students are eligible for a 10 million toman thesis grant, while Doctoral candidates can receive 15 million tomans. To date, 445 students at the Master’s level and 218 at the Doctoral level have benefited from this academic support, facilitating research and easing the financial burden of advanced studies.
A Broader Commitment to Retiree Welfare
The new loan programs are part of a wider series of measures implemented by the CSRO this year aimed at enhancing the livelihood of retirees. Key actions include:
- The execution of the second phase of pension adjustment.
- The settlement of outstanding pension dues for retired educators from the year 1400 (2021-2022).
- The full clearance of all delayed payroll deductions.
- A significant upgrade to the retirees’ supplementary medical insurance, backed by an allocation of over 21 billion tomans.
In a statement, Hojat Mirzaei, the Managing Director of the CSRO, praised retirees as the “social capital of the nation.” He emphasized that all the organization’s endeavors are squarely focused on improving the living standards and well-being of the country’s retired educators and teachers, honoring their lifelong service to Iran’s development.
