Clearing the Backlog: A Phased Approach to Pension Adjustments
Following a period of administrative processing, the Social Security Organization has officially commenced the final phase of payments to clear the backlog of pension adjustments for retirees. This process addresses the annual salary adjustment arrears dating back to the start of the current Iranian year.
The organization has outlined a clear, multi-stage plan to manage these disbursements, citing financial balancing constraints as the primary reason for the earlier delay, for which it has formally apologized.
A Structured Payment Schedule
The payment of the remaining adjustment arrears for the third and final group of retirees and pensioners is now underway, having started on the announced date of October 12, 2023. The disbursements are being carried out gradually and continuously, based on an alphabetical order and through the designated agent banks.
This final phase follows the successful completion of prior payment stages:
- Stage One: Retirees with total pensions and benefits up to 20 million Tomans, along with disabled individuals, received their payments starting September 3, 2023.
- Stage Two: Payments for survivors’ benefits were deposited simultaneously with September’s regular pensions.
Ensuring Transparency and Access
The Social Security Organization has moved to assure all pensioners that the process is proceeding according to its published schedule. Retirees included in this third phase can check the status of their specific payments by contacting their agent bank or by accessing the dedicated online portal of the Social Security Organization, using their personal identifiers.
The organization has reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the matter systematically, ensuring all eligible retirees receive their due adjustments without further disruption.
