University Entrance Exam Results for 1404 Announced; Course Selection Process Begins
The initial results for the 1404 National University Entrance Exam are now official, marking a significant milestone for hundreds of thousands of applicants. The process, a critical component of the nation’s higher education system, is now moving to its next phase.
Exam Administration and Initial Results
The first round of the 1404 National University Entrance Exam was held in Ordibehesht (April/May), with the second round following in Tir (June/July) of this year. Reza Mohammadi, Head of the National Organization for Educational Testing, announced the release of the preliminary results during a press conference on Shahrivar 8th.
Mohammadi confirmed that the initial results for the second round, including raw scores and total scores, were published on Mordad 24th. The comprehensive scorecards, which are now available to candidates in their user accounts on the organization’s portal, include detailed information such as the highest obtained specialized test score, the total academic record score, the final total score, as well as the candidate’s rank within their quota and their national rank.
Course Selection Timeline and Procedures
The head of the organization, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Science, emphasized that the scorecards serve as the official document for the upcoming course selection process for the 1404 academic year. The course selection and registration period for programs that do not require an exam (admission based solely on academic records) has also been announced.
Eligible candidates will be permitted to select up to 150 course codes and university locations. A detailed timeline for the 1404 National Entrance Exam course selection process has been planned and publicly communicated to ensure a smooth and organized procedure for all participants.
Scale of Participation and Support Services
According to reports, a total of 957,798 individuals participated in the first round of the 1404 exam, with 822,953 participating in the second round. Given that some applicants took tests in one or more subject groups, it is estimated that approximately 1.12 million candidates will take part in the course selection stage.

These include virtual course selection software, a special guidebook, and informational motion graphics. Going beyond previous efforts, the organization’s specialists have also recorded and will broadcast dedicated programs and segments to provide expert guidance to all candidates.
