Tehran Traffic Police Centralizes and Expands Public Service Access
In a significant move to enhance urban management and streamline citizen services, the Tehran Traffic Police have completed a comprehensive reorganization of their Traffic Services Center. The initiative, which centralizes key departments while expanding access points across the city, is designed to provide more efficient and accessible services to the capital’s residents.
A New Hub for Traffic Services
Brigadier General Mousavi Pour, Chief of Tehran’s Traffic Police, announced the full relocation of the central Traffic Services Center from its former location on Yadegar-e-Emam Expressway. The new, centralized hub for vehicle release services is now operational at a new address in District 16: Ayatollah Raisi Expressway, Rajaei Street (heading south), Nikbin Street.
“The provision of services by the Release Headquarters is conducted both in person and online,” stated General Mousavi Pour, emphasizing the dual-track approach to modernizing public access. He further clarified that the former address on Yadegar-e-Emam Expressway has been completely vacated and is no longer offering any services as of a specified date.
Decentralized Access for Citizen Complaints and Vehicle Releases
To complement the centralization of core administration and maintain widespread accessibility, the Traffic Police have established multiple service units across Tehran’s districts. This decentralized model ensures that citizens do not have to travel far to address their needs.
- Appealing Traffic Violations: Citizens wishing to dispute traffic citations can now visit dedicated appeal boards located in Police Traffic areas 4, 14, 20, 22, and 28. Each location has been assigned a specific address to facilitate easy access.
- Vehicle and Motorcycle Release: Similarly, the units for the release of impounded vehicles and motorcycles have been set up in six key districts (2, 14, 16, 20, 22, and 28), providing broad geographical coverage.
- Specialized Administrative Units: Other specialized services, including license suspension and restoration, vehicle status changes during impoundment, and the resolution of overpayment or erroneous payment issues, have been consolidated in a single location in District 21 (Tehransar, Yas Blvd., Khazar Street intersection).
A Step Towards Enhanced Urban Governance
This restructuring reflects a broader effort by Iranian urban management bodies to improve bureaucratic efficiency and public convenience. By clearly defining new locations and expanding the network of service points, the Tehran Traffic Police aim to reduce administrative bottlenecks and enhance the citizen experience.
