Your Subsidy, Your Household: A Guide to Financial Independence
In a significant move to empower citizens and foster economic self-sufficiency, the Iranian government has streamlined the process for individuals to establish independent households and receive their direct subsidy allowances. This initiative is designed to support young adults and financially independent individuals in managing their own economic affairs.
A Pathway to Economic Autonomy
The core objective of this new policy is to provide a formal pathway for eligible individuals to gain financial independence. By allowing them to separate from their family’s subsidy unit, the plan facilitates greater personal control over government assistance, including direct cash subsidies and electronic commodity coupons.
How to Apply: A Step-by-Step Guide
Eligible applicants can seamlessly register their request through two primary digital channels: the National Government Services Portal (my.gov.ir) or the dedicated website of the Targeted Subsidies Organization.
- Access the Portal: Users must log in using their National Identification Code.
- Navigate to Household Management: Within the portal, select the “Household Management” section.
- Request Separation: Choose the option “Request to Separate from Household.”
- Submit Proof of Independence: To verify an independent livelihood, applicants must provide supporting documents. These can include a rental agreement, utility bills in the applicant’s name, or proof of employment.
Verification and Subsidy Transfer
Following the submission, the request and documents are carefully reviewed by the Targeted Subsidies Organization in coordination with the National Organization for Civil Registration. Upon approval, the applicant is officially recognized as the head of a new, independent household. From that point forward, all cash subsidies and electronic benefits will be deposited directly into the individual’s personal account.
Priority Groups and Nationwide Rollout
The initial phase of this program prioritizes specific segments of the population. These include individuals over 18 years of age with a verifiable income, female-headed households, and women in challenging family circumstances. The program is designed to be gradually expanded to include all other eligible groups across the country.
In-Person Application for Digital Access Challenges
Acknowledging that not all citizens have easy access to the internet, the government has provided an alternative. Individuals can visit their local Government Service Centers (Pishkhan) to submit their separation request in person. A National ID card and birth certificate are required for this in-person application.
