Your Turn: Phase 5 of Iran’s Electronic Subsidy Scheme – Key Dates and Distribution Details
Tehran – The fifth phase of Iran’s Electronic Voucher Scheme is set to commence, marking the latest development in a national program designed to provide targeted economic support. The initiative, a key component of the country’s social welfare policy, aims to effectively shield low and middle-income families from economic pressures by reallocating resources with precision.
A Shift to Targeted Support
The scheme represents a strategic shift in the nation’s subsidy architecture. By re-directing resources previously allocated to higher-income segments of society, the program ensures that government assistance reaches those with the greatest need. This recalibration is intended to make the social safety net more comprehensive and efficient for its intended beneficiaries.
Official Launch Date
According to official sources, the distribution for the fifth phase is scheduled for the Iranian month of Aban. While the precise hour of the deposit has not been finalized, several news agencies have indicated a strong likelihood that the launch will coincide with the 5th of Aban, a date that also holds religious significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zainab (SA). As in previous phases, priority will be given to the designated lower-income deciles.
Potential Adjustments and Previous Allocations
Reports suggest that Phase Five will be implemented with certain modifications, though it remains unconfirmed whether this will include a universal increase in the voucher amount for all eligible groups. What is certain is that the funds freed from the removal of subsidies for wealthier brackets are being channeled into this scheme to bolster support for lower-income families.
For reference, in the previous phases, beneficiaries in deciles 1 to 3 received 500,000 Tomans, while those in deciles 4 to 7 were allocated 350,000 Tomans.
Deadline for Phase Four
Eligible citizens who are part of the current fourth phase are reminded that they have until the end of the month of Aban to utilize their existing credit. It is important to note that after this deadline, any remaining balance from the fourth phase will expire and will no longer be accessible.
