Independence FC Navigates Fixture Turmoil Ahead of Cup Clash
Fixture Controversy Erupts
A scheduling conflict has thrown the preparations of football club Independence FC into disarray just before their crucial Round of 16 match in the domestic cup competition. The team is scheduled to face Padideh Khalkhal this Friday, but the planned venue has been thrown into question after officials at the Shahre Qods stadium reportedly refused to host the fixture.
Stadium Availability in Question
According to reports, authorities at the Shahre Qods stadium informed Independence FC that the pitch is currently undergoing essential reseeding and maintenance. This work is reportedly in preparation for the club’s upcoming Asian-level match against Al-Wasl of the United Arab Emirates, making the stadium unavailable for the cup tie.
Compounding the issue, the Pas-e Ghavamin stadium, another potential venue, is also unavailable due to its own scheduling commitments. The stadium is already booked for other cup matches on the preceding Thursday and the following Saturday, leaving no viable window for the Independence FC fixture.
A Race Against Time
This administrative and logistical challenge presents a significant hurdle for Independence FC as they seek to advance in the cup tournament. The club’s management is now actively seeking a swift resolution to secure an appropriate venue for the match, ensuring the team can focus on their performance on the field.
