In a significant diplomatic development, Iran’s Foreign Minister has underscored the robust and expanding strategic partnership between Iran and Russia, while also revealing that Tehran is currently evaluating recent requests for negotiation.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, reiterated the deep-seated strategic ties connecting Tehran and Moscow. He expressed pleasure at the reunion with President Putin and conveyed gratitude for the Russian leader’s messages of condolence and congratulation.
Iran’s Resilience Highlighted on Global Stage
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the world has witnessed Iran’s true strength in its interactions with the United States, reaffirming the Islamic Republic of Iran as a stable, firm, and powerful entity. He further emphasized that recent events have clearly demonstrated Iran’s possession of significant allies and friends, such as Russia, and expressed appreciation for Moscow’s consistent stance and support.
Carrying warm greetings from Iran’s Supreme Leader and President Dr. Pezeshkian, the Foreign Minister conveyed Iran’s unwavering commitment to its strategic partnership with Russia. He reiterated that the bilateral relationship, already strong, will continue to grow in both power and scope.
Tehran Assesses Diplomatic Inquiries
Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Araghchi elaborated on Iran’s diplomatic posture. He highlighted that Iran stood firm against the world’s leading superpower, and that its objectives in this regard were not met. “This is why they have requested negotiations, and we are currently reviewing this,” Araghchi stated. He reiterated the strategic nature of the Iran-Russia partnership, underscoring mutual support and ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
