Second Wave of Pension Payments to be Disbursed Alongside September Salaries
In a significant move to address pension arrears, Iran’s Social Security Organization has announced the schedule for the second phase of its payment plan. This phase will see the disbursement of owed amounts to all eligible beneficiaries, including the spouses and daughters of pensioners.
The first phase of payments, which covered the arrears from the annual salary adjustment for the Persian calendar year beginning March 2024, commenced on September 2nd. This initial disbursement was directed towards pensioners and disabled individuals whose total monthly income was less than 20 million tomans.
Scheduled Disbursement for Survivors and Remaining Pensioners
According to the official announcement, the second wave of payments will be processed simultaneously with the regular September pension salary, which is slated for deposit between September 19th and 21st. This phase is specifically dedicated to settling the arrears for all survivors of pensioners.
The Social Security Organization has reaffirmed its commitment to a three-stage payment plan designed to settle all outstanding arrears for over 4.5 million case files by the end of the Persian month of Shahrivar (September 21st). The total net value of these payments is estimated at over 25,665 billion tomans.
Transparency and Citizen Support
To ensure transparency and address any inquiries, the organization has highlighted its 24/7 response system. Pensioners and beneficiaries can contact the dedicated hotline at 1420 from anywhere in the country, free of charge and without needing an area code, for assistance.
The timely settlement of these arrears is a key component of the government’s and the Social Security Organization’s ongoing efforts to support retirees who have dedicated years of service to the nation. This structured payment plan underscores a commitment to fulfilling obligations and enhancing the welfare of pensioners and their families.
