Temporary Traffic Restrictions on Chalus Road and Tehran-North Freeway for Safety Measures
Tehran – In a move prioritizing traveler safety, Iranian traffic police have announced a 24-hour traffic restriction on the vital Chalus Road and the Tehran-North Freeway. The restrictions are scheduled to begin at 22:00 on October 18th and remain in effect until 22:00 on October 19th.
A Precautionary Measure
According to Colonel Karami Asad, a traffic police official, the temporary closure is a necessary safety precaution due to the movement of livestock through the pastoral regions along the route. This seasonal activity can pose significant risks to motorists on the mountainous roads.
Specific Route Closures
The official provided specific details on the affected areas:
- The Kandavan-Chalus route will be completely closed to traffic in both northbound and southbound directions for the entire 24-hour period.
- Motorists traveling from Tehran towards Chalus will only be permitted to travel as far as the Zangoleh Bridge. Proceeding beyond this point towards Kandavan will be prohibited during the restriction window.
An Appeal to the Public
Colonel Karami Asad urged citizens and travelers to adhere to the restrictions and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid traffic congestion and potential accidents. He emphasized that “the safety of passengers on mountain routes, especially during livestock crossings, is the primary priority of the Traffic Police.”
The implementation of these temporary measures underscores the authorities’ commitment to ensuring secure travel conditions for all on this critical national roadway.
