
Iran Condemns Mali Terror Attacks, Underscoring Global Counter-Terrorism Imperative
Tehran, Iran – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of recent terrorist attacks in Mali, which resulted in the tragic loss of Defense Minister Sadio Camara, members of his family, and numerous citizens, including worshippers at a mosque in Kati, near the capital Bamako.
Upholding Principled Stance Against Terrorism
In a statement released on Monday, May 26th, Ismail Baqai, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed deep sorrow over the devastating incidents. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and extended profound sympathy to the government and people of Mali. The spokesperson also wished a swift recovery for those injured in the attacks.
A Call for Collective International Action
Reiterating the Islamic Republic of Iran’s unwavering and principled position against all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, Baqai emphasized that combating terrorism is an international responsibility. He underscored the necessity of cooperation and coordination among all nations to effectively confront this global menace.
The spokesperson highlighted the crucial need for sustained efforts to combat not only the perpetrators of terrorist acts but also their organizers, facilitators, and financial backers.
