Parliamentary Security Chief: National Interests Anchor Iran’s Diplomatic Strategy
Tehran, Iran – A senior parliamentary security official has underscored that Iran’s diplomatic engagements are firmly rooted in the nation’s paramount interests, emphasizing a strategic approach that balances negotiation with unwavering resolve.
Diplomacy as a Strategic Pillar
Ahmad Ajam, the Head of the Parliamentary Security Committee and a representative for Shahroud and Miami, stated that the nation’s diplomatic corps, its citizens, and its armed forces are united in their commitment to achieving ultimate victory and compelling adversaries to yield. “The diplomatic team in the negotiation arena, the people in the streets, and the valiant combatants on the battlefield are all unified and in accord, working diligently from their respective positions to achieve final victory and compel the enemy’s surrender,” Ajam told reporters.
Navigating Negotiations with Prudence
While acknowledging the undeniable necessity of dialogue, Ajam stressed that Iran’s approach to negotiations is tempered by a clear understanding of past betrayals by adversaries. “The principle of negotiation is undeniable, and the enemy’s bad faith is evident,” he stated. “Negotiation is unavoidable, but it is contingent upon the opportune moment, the right venue, and adherence to commitments based on ten key conditions.”
Ajam elaborated that negotiations are pursued step-by-step to advance the outlined objectives of safeguarding national interests. “We negotiate while maintaining our readiness, as we do not place trust in the opposing party,” he explained. This cautious stance stems from a historical awareness of aggressive tendencies and an ambition for dominance displayed by adversaries.
The Power of National Resolve
The parliamentary official highlighted that Iran’s “soft power,” embodied by the public’s awareness and sagacity, is a critical component in shaping negotiations to align with the nation’s aspirations. “The vigilance of the people (soft power), alongside the diplomatic team (struggle), can steer negotiations towards the realization of Iran’s objectives,” Ajam asserted.
He further emphasized the significance of the populace’s conscious and informed participation as a source of soft power and the bedrock of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strength, bolstering the armed forces. “The epic presence of the people has left our enemies bewildered,” he added, referring to the widespread public engagement in various arenas.
Ajam commended the Iranian people for their enduring commitment to defending the ideals of the Islamic Revolution. He characterized the current level of public participation as distinct and exemplary, a source of pride and steadfastness for the nation.
Drawing inspiration from the words of the martyred Imam, the representative praised the public’s genuine and power-generating engagement, calling for media support to amplify this momentous display of national unity and resolve.
